Join us at HotDocs TED ROGERS CINEMA on SUNDAY APRIL 14th for a very special screening of the incredible new documentary film: VESELKA.
Featuring a Q&A with film director Michael Fiore & Cast and a live musical performance of the films original song 'On The Corner At The Center Of the World' by Toronto's own CLAMP and Jeff Heisholt.
Narrated by actor David Duchovny, the film follows the seventy year history of NYC Ukranian restaurant VESELKA. Best known for its borscht and varenyky, it has become a beacon of hope for Ukraine.
As the second-generation owner Tom Birchard reluctantly retires after 54 years, his son Jason faces the pressures of stepping into his father’s shoes just as the war in Ukraine impacts his family and staff.
